The workshop
What is NÓMADE?
An intensive independent film workshop in Mendoza, Argentina, from 1 to 15 November 2027. Thirty participants, in six teams of five, make six short films, from the first idea to the final screening, supported by the workshop's technical crew and by mentors and guest professionals.

No: the genre is open. Fiction, documentary, western, portrait, hybrid: each team decides how to tell its story. Each short runs up to 15 minutes.
How are teams formed?
There are six teams of five participants, built around head-of-department roles, like a professional independent film crew. Each participant chooses up to two roles.

Yes: the winning short receives a one-year distribution award from the distributor ANIOLUZ. It's presented on Sunday 14 November, at the final screening.
Do I need to bring my camera?
No. Professional film equipment and gear are included in the price.
What is virtual pre-production?
A first stage, a month earlier, in October 2027: four virtual sessions, one a week, to form the teams and roles, work on ideas, develop the stories and their treatments, and prepare the production plan. Days and times will be confirmed with the selected participants.
Is there casting?
Yes, for the stories that need it. Actors' fees are included in the price.
Who owns the films?
We'll set it out in the guidelines of the call for applications. Image releases from everyone filmed will be mandatory.

In Mendoza. Each short's locations are chosen during scouting. The location itinerary we publish (the city, Malargüe and La Payunia, and the High Andes) is an illustrative draft.
What's the weather like in November? What should I bring?
November is spring in Mendoza. If your short shoots at altitude, nights are cold and it can be windy: bring layers and warm clothes. Before you travel, we'll send you a list of what to bring.
Can you accommodate special diets or accessibility needs?
Yes, as far as we possibly can. When you confirm your place, we'll ask about special diets, allergies or accessibility needs. Keep in mind that some locations may be on rough terrain and at altitude.
